WHAT IS CONFLICT COACHING?

Conflict Coaching is a one-on-one, individual, voluntary and confidential process for people
managing and/or experiencing the effects of workplace conflict.

CINERGY® Conflict Coaching offers a breakthrough in the management of workplace
conflict, This dynamic new method integrates the burgeoning fields of coaching and
alternative dispute resolution, supporting individuals to develop insight and practical skills
for managing conflict. It has unique early intervention applications in situations where there is reluctance to openly identify conflict or it is untimely or inadvisable to bring parties together.

Conflict Coaches work with individuals to:

  • clarify and achieve their conflict management goals
  • develop insight into the dynamics of their conflict
  • understand the perspective of all parties
  • explore options and make informed choices
  • develop the practical skills to implement conflict strategies that work
  • reduce the human and organisational costs of conflict

Conflict coaching has proven invaluable in

  • preparing for challenging conversations or mediation
  • developing the conflict competencies of managers and supervisors
  • early intervention and return to work, following conflict-related occupational stress injuries

Conflict Coaches support early resolution of disputes and restoration of working relationships.

CLIENT FEEDBACK

Coaching Clients

‘I now realize that I need to be a lot clearer about my intentions and the outcomes I am seeking before talking with my staff or my managers. I have a greater understanding and a plan of action as to how I might approach difficult conversations with them.’

‘I have much greater awareness of my management style on a number of levels and the need to be more mindful of how I speak with and react to my staff.’

‘These sessions have opened up my eyes to seeing conflict situations through the other person’s eyes and therefore enabling me to be much more effective in managing the conflict.’

‘I am able to see how my pattern of ineffectively dealing with conflict impacts on my life in a number of ways and to see the need to take action to speak out rather than avoid conflict.’

‘This has really opened my eyes as to how I contribute to the conflicts I have with people and the assumptions I make about them.’

‘This process has stimulated me to think seriously about and make the decision to take action to deal with a long standing conflict instead of endlessly pondering over it and doing nothing.’

‘Helped me to understand just why this situation pushed my buttons so strongly.’

‘This has opened the door to me seeing the difference between what I think I’m communicating and what I am actually communicating.’

‘It feels good to have made a decision to take some action and to know that I can apply what I have learnt here in other situations.’

Course Participants

This new model is so dynamic, practical, powerful and respectful. Fabulous trainers! Patient, empathic, instructive, understanding, clear explanations, firm with structure (time frames), great variety in learning tools.
Staff Counsellor

The questioning technique is superb and felt easy to embrace. Nice balance of humor, informality, real stories and theory. Practice was great.
Organisational Consultant

The structure of coaching – the spine of the process – is a wonderful resource for working with my clients.  I realise that as coach I don’t have to have the solutions for others – very liberating!
Mediator

I have learnt a very effective model for life. Doing something new took me completely out of comfort zone, and helped me realise about values and how they play a huge part in all conflicts.
Manager

I now have tools for helping people work through their concerns about the conflicts that usually result in injuries and time off work.
Rehabilitation Consultant

The model’s insight into mutuality and its capacity to develop coachee’s self-awareness of their contribution to conflict was particularly impressive.
